Colonel P.S. MIchie
U. S. Army corps of engineers dredge. This dredge was usually
berthed
at the government dock in Empire, Oregon. She serviced the
bays along
the west coast of Oregon during the 1930's and early 1940's, Floyd
Brown
was her captain, James Maples (Husband of Guenned 'Tower' Maples)
was her engineer. Bill Reichert (native of Empire) was dredge
master.
She was replaced by the dredge 'Pacific' in the mid 1940's. |
